The American Medical Technologists (AMT) is a national credentialing agency formed in 1939. It is a not-for-profit association of allied health professionals that offers credentials and membership for a number of different health professions.
To be eligible to test for their CMLA, candidates must have either 1,040 hours (or six months) worth of work experience where laboratory technology was a focus or have completed a program that includes a minimum of 200 didactic clock hours and a minimum of 120 hours of documents and approved clinical laboratory experience.
