What does a Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician do?

Electrocardiograph (EKG or ECG) technicians and phlebotomists work directly with patients in a variety of medical settings. An EKG Technician is responsible for operating an electrocardiograph, a machine that monitors the electrical activity in the heart. Phlebotomists collect blood and non-blood specimens for testing, so they can be analyzed in a clinical laboratory.

Where Can You Work?

Medical professionals who have both the knowledge of EKGs and phlebotomy often work in hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient care centers and medical labs. Having these dual high-demand skills opens more doors to opportunities.
