Overview of the Issuing Authority

Since 1987, the National Academy of Sports Medicine has trained over 1.4 million professionals in fitness and wellness. They are National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCAA) accredited and have over one thousand health club partners, and a network of industry leaders and influencers in 100 countries. The organization has its headquarters in Gilbert, Arizona.

Certification Requirements

Must have current Emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitated (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certification prior to sitting for the exam (not required to purchase the NASM-CPT). The CPT exam is taken through a live proctor, which can be online or in-person at a proctoring location.
